THANK YOU! - In response to the terrible earthquake in Haiti, we received $3280.75 during our Special Offerings on January 17 and 24.  Thank you for your generosity.  Continue to pray and give.  You can get updates on the relief efforts at the PC(USA) website or the Hearts with Haiti website.

The youth group will be raising money on Sunday, February 7 through their annual Souper Bowl of Caring offering.  All money raised will be donated to Haiti through Water Missions International.  Come prepared to give generously in the soup pots!

Oyster Roast and Chili Cook-Off on February 27, 4:00-6:00.  Come join us by the pavilion for wonderful food and fellowship!  There will be three prizes for the Chili Cook-Off.

Red Cross Blood DriveSign up now to donate blood Sunday afternoon, March 7.  Did you know that every two seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion?  Did you know that 55 million patients need blood transfusions every year in the US?  You can help by donating blood during our annual blood drive held in the fellowship hall.

Women's Retreat - November 12-14, 2010

Thanks to all of the ladies who came to the 2009 Women's Retreat. We had a great time and hope that even more women can come this year, so mark your calendars now!  You can view all of the pictures from 2009 at our photo page.

Dorchester Serves Day - October 3, 2009

Thank you for making our First Annual Dorchester Serves Day a huge success.  92 people served for 450 hours.  We are so proud of our church!  Pictures are now online at our photo page.   Please remember that there is still much to be done in our community…so think of ways that you can continue to SERVE throughout the year!  If you want ideas, members of the mission committee have a lot of opportunities for you.

Book Blog - We currently have an online book club reading Tribal Church:  Ministering to the Missing Generation by Carol Howard-Merritt.  Please call Dorothy if you would like to participate, we still have a few copies of the book, and it's not too late to join in the discussion.  You may go to our book blog to learn more about the book and see where the discussion is taking place.   You can click on the "how to" tab to learn how to participate.

Fair Trade Coffee - We are now serving and selling Fair Trade Coffee through the Presbyterian Coffee Project.  Through this program, we can help provide a fair wage and a life of dignity for coffee farmers around the world.  12oz bags of coffee in a variety of flavors are available in the church office for $7 each.

Good Search - Do you google or yahoo?  Now there is a way you can search the internet and help raise money for the DPC youth group.  Go here, and we will get a portion of the advertising revenue if you click on Dorchester Presbyterian Church as your charity of choice.
