DPC NEWS!

Mortgage Burning Celebration

On January 22, we held our official mortgage burning, celebrating our new life as a debt free congregation!  We paid off our church's mortgage last fall after a "So Close You Can Touch It" Campaign.  Following worship on the 22nd, we gathered around our newly constructed firepit between the pavilion and outdoor sanctuary for a special service, giving everyone a chance to place a piece of the mortgage as well as posters from past fundraising campaigns in the fire.  The firepit was constructed by members using bricks collected during our 2011 Stewardship Campaign "Building for Eternity".

We look forward to dreaming big in our debt-free future.  How will God call us to serve?

Memorial Garden Construction is Underway

Dorchester's new Memorial Garden was dedicated during worship on All Saints Sunday, October 30, 2011.  This space between the Office, Sanctuary, and Education Buildings will be transformed into a beautiful Memorial Garden (design is pictured to the right), where members can place the ashes of loved ones.  The heavy lifting begins the first week in February with the planting and final touches following week by week until its completion.  If you would like to purchase a plant for the Memorial Garden in honor or memory of a loved one, please fill out the MEMORIAL GARDEN PLANT FORM and return it to the church.
