PYC Annual Service Projects

CROP WALK

The annual Crop Walk is scheduled in November.  Members of PYC request help in raising funds to support both national and local hunger organizations.  The local organizations that will share 25% of this years total WALK income include Catholic Charities/Neighborhood House, Good Neighbor Center; LowCountry Food Bank, and Lutheran Social Services.

Our walkers from last year were so successful because of the congregation’s support.  Rather than sponsoring individual walkers, we are again asking members to sponsor the walkers as a group.  This enables the youth to participate in the walk, raise hunger awareness, and not have to solicit donations from every individual in the congregation.  Members of PYC will accept donations following worship services for the two weeks before the event.  Please give generously to help Crop Stop Hunger!

SOUPER BOWL OF CARING

This year, the Super Bowl and the Souper Bowl of Caring will both occur on the first Sunday in February.  The Souper Bowl of Caring is an annual event for the Presbyterian Youth Connection.  We collect cash donations to deliver to a local hunger organization.  This year, all money collected will go to the Crisis Ministries Shelter in downtown Charleston.  Please plan ahead and remember to bring some cash to donate.
