Fall Festival

Each fall, we invite the families and staff from the Good Shepherd School to a cook-out complete with games and a cookie walk.  It is a great chance for our two groups to get to know each other.

Women's Retreat

Beginning in 2008, our women take a break from their day to day lives to retreat to the beach for a weekend of fellowship, renewal, and relaxation.  We spend time in devotions, group building, and worship as well as plenty of free time to reconnect with God and friends.

Thanksgiving at Givhans State Park

Each year, part of our church family gathers to celebrate this holiday at Givhans State Park. Each family brings their favorite Thanksgiving dishes to share - there is always plenty to go around! This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are far away from their families or who just don't want to cook the huge meal all alone. We always have a good time spending time with friends and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere.

Advent Festival

This is a church-wide annual event held on the first Sunday of Advent.  The evening  includes a dinner with delicious homemade soups, breads, and desserts, a craft workshop, a Christmas program, and caroling.

Oyster Roast

Join us in January for our annual oyster roast and pot-luck fellowship event.  If you want to eat oysters, be sure to bring your oyster knife and a sturdy glove, and join in the fun.  But if you don’t like oysters there will be hotdogs and many delicious homemade desserts and sides.  There will also be a chili cook-off, so no one will go home hungry!

Church Retreat

Each spring, members of our church go away for a weekend of relaxation and fellowship at Bethelwoods Conference Center.  Highlights from past retreats have been hayrides, campfires, kick-ball, worship, dancing, canoeing, just hanging out with family and friends.

Vacation Bible School

Week-long Bible experience for 4 year olds through 5th graders.  Our children discover Bible stories through daily skits, crafts, music, mission, stories, and recreation.  It is normally held in June.

Summer Camp at Bethelwoods

Facilities in York, South Carolina host a variety of summer camping experiences for children from first grade through senior high.  Check out the Bethelwoods website.

Montreat Conferences

Members and friends attend the Youth, Worship & Music and Collegiate conferences at Montreat Conference Center near Black Mountain, North Carolina.  Numerous conferences are held and more information can be found at the Montreat website.
